Mr. Marvel
was a retired farmer.
He was born Oct. 20, 1913, in Waynesville, a son
of Charles and Ida Gambrel Marvel. He married
Susanabelle Irvine on Feb. 20, 1938, in Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife, Sue, of 71 years; two
sons, Larry (and Charlotte) Marvel of Kenney and
Charles (and Linda) Marvel of Waynesville; four
sisters, Leona Bicknell of Atlanta, Ada Kindred of
Atlanta, Imogene Graham of Saybrook and Wanda
Zurkhammer of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Jeff
Marvel, Susan Reynolds, Richard Marvel, Alissa Grant
and Craig Marvel; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one
brother, Wayne Marvel; one sister, Charlene Hunting;
and one grandson, Ken Marvel.
He was a member of the Waynesville United
Methodist Church. He was a past master and life
member of DeWitt Masonic Lodge.
Memorials may be made to the Waynesville United
Methodist Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
