[October 20, 2009]  The Lady Wolverine basketball team was back in action Monday night, facing the Zion Lutheran Eagles at home. The Lady Wolverines came ready to play and defeated Zion in both contests.   

The seventh-grade Lady Wolverine team won 22-7. They were led in scoring by Kaylyn Hoffert with eight points. Adrienne Klockenga followed with three points. Kate Benner, Emily Martinez, Mikayla Smith, Megan Jospeh and Jordan Wood each added two points. Benner led the Lady Wolverines in rebounding with eight and blocked one shot.

Congratulations to the seventh-grade Lady Wolverine team, who increased their record to 5-4 on the season.

Misc

Zion Lutheran was led in scoring by Haillie Williams with five points.

The eighth-grade Lady Wolverines came ready to play after Thursday's defeat. The last time the eighth-grade team met Zion Lutheran, in the Carroll Catholic tournament, WL-B won by two points. WL-B didn't want to leave anything on the court tonight. They finished the night defeating Zion by a score of 43-22. 

Michelle Paulus led all scoring with 16 points. Livvie Muck came ready to play and added 14 points. Kaylyn Hoffert added six points and Alexandra Turner chipped in five. Paulus also led WL-B in rebounds with seven. Muck grabbed five rebounds and had two blocked shots. Paulus and Muck also created five steals each.

This moves the Lady Wolverines' record to 5-4 on the season.

Zion Lutheran was led in scoring by Gracie Walters and Alysa Cox, both with eight points.

The WL-B Lady Wolverines will be back tonight (Tuesday) against Illini Central at Easton gymnasium.
