Virgil L. Pinkley, 92, of Lincoln, died
Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, at 4:05 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital. |
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. His
funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the
funeral home, with the Rev. Dennis Shaw officiating.
Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Pinkley was a retired farmer and had worked
at Lincoln Bottle Factory.
He was born Feb. 27, 1917, at Elkland, Mo., to
Joseph Christopher and Nellie Gann Pinkley. He
married Naomi F. Cline on Nov. 30, 1946, at Fort
Scott, Kan.
He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; his
children, Howard D. Pinkley of Lincoln, Richard L.
(and Donna) Pinkley of Bloomington, David R. Pinkley
of Lincoln, Carl D. (and Diana) Pinkley of Mount
Pulaski, Gary L. (and Fern) Pinkley of Springfield,
Steven L. Pinkley of Springfield, Linda L. Geitros
of Lincoln, Betty A. Pinkley of Lincoln, Juanita K.
(and Mike) Buttell of Lincoln and Patricia J. Brooks
of Springfield, Mo.; two brothers, Orville (and
Dessie) Pinkley of Elkland, Mo., and Joseph (and
Helen) Pinkley of Olathe, Kan.; four sisters,
Virginia Boraniar of Lenexa, Kan., Vinnie Brown of
Buffalo, Mo., Lorene Harper of Zanesville, Ohio, and
Geneva (and George) Medlan of Olathe, Kan.; 16
grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. |
Four brothers preceded him in death.

Memorial Fund.
