Cecilia was born on Oct. 27, 1927, in Brooklyn, N.Y. Her parents were Tom and Mary Shay. She married Edward W. Krotz in 1952, and he preceded her in death in 1995.

She is survived by three sons, Edward, Mark and Keith in Naples, Fla.; one daughter, Sheila Krotz of San Diego, Calif.; three daughters-in-law, Marlene, Belinda and Debbie; six grandchildren, Edward, Celia, Jennifer, Nicole, Jessica and Karl; and three great-grandchildren, Alex, Cassie and Aden.

Cecilia was a devoted wife and a loving and caring mother. She enjoyed volunteering her time, especially with the St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary as a candy striper. Later she worked with Habitat for Humanity. Of particular enjoyment was working with former President Jimmy Carter on a project in South Dakota and another project in Poland. Many times she could be found in the basement of St. James School helping out with bake sales raising money for various projects.

While living in Florida, she was an avid shell collector who could be found riding her bike to many of Naples' beautiful beaches.

The family thanks the staff of Barrington Terrace for their thoughtfulness and help during a difficult period for the family and also extends a heartfelt thanks to hospice.
