Plans for the 11th annual Lincoln MS
Walk at Kickapoo Creek Park on May 2, are nearing completion and,
according to Nancy Ireland, who is chairing the event, "all we need
now is a beautiful day and lots of walkers." Check-in begins at
12:30 p.m., team pictures will be taken at 1, and the walk starts at
1:30.

The day's events include music provided by Greg & Joe Hackett --
Music 4U DJ Service. There will be face painting and games for the
kiddies, and participants will have the opportunity to bid on some
really neat silent auction items donated by individuals and
merchants. Following the walk, there will be a drawing for some
prizes, and winners of the silent auction will be announced.
The walk route is 1 1/2 miles around beautiful Kickapoo Creek
Park and participants have the option of walking once or twice
around. There will be assistance for anyone who is unable to
complete the route.
It's not easy to pinpoint the cause of multiple sclerosis, and so
far, the cure rests on continued research. Every hour, another
person is diagnosed with MS. For 20,000 people in Illinois and some
400,000 nationwide, that hour has already arrived. Each case of
multiple sclerosis, a chronic and often disabling disease, is as
unique as the people who have it.
People may register for the walk by calling 732-2339 or online at
www.lincolnms.com. Donations
may be sent to Lincoln MS Walk, 23 Tulip Drive, Lincoln, IL 62656.
