[April 26, 2010]  The Salvation Army of Logan County Emergency Disaster Services has responded to the rural fire that completely destroyed a family's home earlier today. The family's immediate needs for shelter, food and clothing have been met in close coordination and collaboration with Logan County Emergency Management Agency and American Red Cross. The Salvation Army will continue to act as the lead relief agency for this family going forward, addressing long-term recovery needs as they become evident.

Logan County businesses, organizations and community members who would like to assist with future needs for this family should contact Rebecca Van Nydeggen directly by calling 217-732-7890 or by e-mail to Rebecca_Van_Nydeggen@usc.salvationarmy.org.   Financial donations for fire relief and recovery may be made to "The Salvation Army of Logan County" and designated "Disaster Fund" in the memo line.

The family requests that as they recover from the shock of this devastating loss, all offers of in-kind or financial assistance be channeled through The Salvation Army program office until further notice.

More information will be released as it is available.
