Louis 'Louie' Winkelmann

[August 16, 2010]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Louis "Louie" Karl Winkelmann, 59, of Mount Pulaski, died Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at 3:47 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Chestnut, with the Rev. Joel Dietrich officiating. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the church.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Services are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

Mr. Winkelmann was an assembly line worker for Vega Enterprises in Harristown for 21 years and he was a farmer.

He was born March 24, 1951, in Chestnut. His parents were Clarence and Harriet Von Thun Winkelmann.

He is survived by three daughters, Michelle Winkelmann of Lincoln, Victoria Winkelmann of Lincoln and Kimberly Winkelmann of Mount Pulaski; one son, Robert Winkelmann of Mount Pulaski; his stepfather, Jack Buckley of Chestnut; a stepbrother and stepsister; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepbrother.

Funeral Director

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Chestnut, Chestnut Men's Club and was a volunteer fireman in Chestnut. He had been a 4-H member.
