Burial will be
in Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was born Nov. 6, 1933, in Jameson, Ala. His
parents were Charley Head Sr. and Fannie Smith Head.
His first wife was Ruth Smith, and she preceded him
in death on June 29, 1994. He later married Kathleen
Swanson on June 30, 1995, in Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; two sons,
Greg Head (and Jan) of Germantown Hills and Lynn
Head of Lincoln; one daughter, Lynda Salander (and
David) of Lincoln; two stepdaughters, Darla Lynn
(and Gary) of Michigan and Christine Harman (and
Tim) of Mason City; nine grandchildren; one
great-grandchild; one brother, Jim Head of Alabama;
and three sisters, Bonnie Peck (and William) of
Alabama, Betty Escue of Tennessee and Sue Perryman
of Alabama.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter,
Susan Head.
