Thelma Fulk

[December 22, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Thelma M. Fulk, 86, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at 1:38 a.m. at her son's home.

She was cremated. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Zion Cemetery, with Don Green officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Mrs. Fulk worked as a meter maid for the city of Lincoln and as matron at the Logan County Jail.

She was born Nov. 9, 1924, in Lincoln. Her parents were Carl Joseph and Anna Bernadine Werkman Hurley. She married Elmer D. Fulk Jr. on Sept. 12, 1942, in Lincoln. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1987.

She is survived by three sons, Larry (and Sierra Sue) Fulk, Donald (and Rosanne) Fulk and Dan (and Joy) Fulk, all of Lincoln; one daughter, Debra (and John) Cook of Lincoln; three brothers, Richard (and Carol) Hurley of Lincoln, Virgil (and Judy) Hurley of Oceanside, Calif., and Edward (and Ruth) Hurley of Lincoln; one sister, Linda (and Jerry) Woodard of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Dale Allen; one grandson, Donald Fulk Jr.; and five brothers.

Funeral Director

She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church and Women of the Moose.

Thelma was an avid Cardinal and Illini fan and loved playing bingo and rummy.

She was the happiest when she was helping others and staying busy. She was a very caring and giving mom, grandma, great-grandma and friend.
