[December 30, 2010]  BELGRADE, Serbia (AP) -- Serbian police searching for a war crimes fugitive instead found photographs of a stolen Modigliani painting they suspect is in his possession.

HardwareThe war crimes prosecutor's office said Thursday the search at the house of Goran Hadzic's close friend was part of an effort to capture one of two remaining war crimes fugitives sought by a U.N. court.

Prosecutors say they found photographs of an oil painting by Italian master Amedeo Modigliani worth more than euro1 million ($1.3 million) that apparently is in Hadzic's possession.

Hadzic is a former Croatian Serb rebel leader wanted by the tribunal in The Hague, Netherlands over atrocities stemming from Croatia's 1991-95 war. He and wartime Bosnian Serb army commander Ratko Mladic are the last two suspects wanted by the court.
