Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home in Atlanta.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral
home, with the Rev. Andrew Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Waynesville,
where military rites will be conducted.
Mr. White opened White’s Repair Shop in
Waynesville in 1947, and the shop later became White
Farm Equipment. He was at the business every day
until he was 90 years old.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was born April 23, 1918, in McLean, a son of
Charles W. and Delia Smith White. He married Frances
J. Price on Feb. 16, 1946, in Atlanta. She preceded
him in death on Jan. 23, 1993.
He is survived by his two sons, Allan B. White of
Clinton and Brien L. (and Cindy) White of
Waynesville; one brother, Dayton White of
Greenville, Ky.; one sister, Glenna Williams of
Farmer City; five grandchildren, Carrie Welch, Zack
(and Ashley) White, Josh (and Nicole) White, Miranda
(and Craig) Phillips and Rob Rybolt; and two
great-grandchildren, Bailey Rybolt and Payton
Phillips.
He was also preceded in death by one grandson and
one sister.
He was a member of American Legion Post 1189.
