Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968
until 1970 in Company "C" 802 Engineers, 854th
Transportation Unit during the Korean and Vietnam
wars and received a Purple Heart.
He was born Sept. 20, 1950, in Aurora. His
parents were William Eugene Sr. and Mary Lou
Shackley McCarthy. He married Neda Wolfram on Jan.
12, 1991, in Atlanta.
He is survived by three daughters, Wendi (and
Joe) Dipiazza of Winnebago, Jennifer (and Scott)
Ware of Pecatonica and Amy (and Jeremiah) Harcourt
of Washington; one brother, Ronald (and Kathy)
McCarthy of Gilbert, Ariz.; two sisters, Carolyn
(and Robert D. Sr.) Gaston of Lincoln and Susan (and
Brett) Glaser of Bloomington; seven grandchildren,
Jakob and Maddy Dipiazza, Megan and Mariah Dach,
Isiah, Keegan and Alex Barr; and special friends
Amber and John Bone.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one
brother, Steven I. McCarthy.
He was an avid Bears fan and fisherman.
