MOUNT PULASKI -- Robert Wilson Jones,
95, of Mount Pulaski, formerly of Latham, died Saturday, July 10,
2010, at 4:10 p.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski. |
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at
the funeral home, with the Rev. Glenn Strohschein
officiating. There will also be a 2 p.m. graveside
service at Humbolt Cemetery, Humbolt.
Mr. Jones was a skilled welder for G.E. He worked
for Huss-Sleiper in Decatur as well as W.R. Grace
Fertilizer in Clinton.
He was born Feb. 19, 1915, in Decatur. His
parents were George Wilson and Hulda Hoffercamp
Jones. He married Catherine Fellows on Nov. 26,
1936. She preceded him in death on Sept. 30, 1997.
He is survived by one son, Wesley (and Synda)
Jones of Fort Myers, Fla.; two daughters, Jo Ellen
(and Robert) Maske of Mount Pulaski and Carol (and
Steve) Tulo of Springfield, Va.; a daughter-in-law,
Peggie Jones of Chebeague Island, Maine; one sister,
Norma Jones of Humboldt; a sister-in-law, Sara Brand
of Mattoon; 12 grandchildren; 20
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by one son, two
sisters and three brothers. |
He was a past mayor of Latham, a member of the
Latham Fire Department and a member of the Lake Bank
Cemetery board.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran School of
Mount Pulaski or Vonderlieth Living Center.
