The contest for grade
school and junior high schools was conducted earlier this spring,
and a winner from each level was selected from many entries. The
main guidelines for the original logo designs were to include an
image of a Lynx, the Lincoln College mascot. "Our Lincoln College
Lynx represents the pride and spirit of our athletic teams, and we
really appreciate having our hometown artists helping us to create
an image for a new era!" commented President John Hutchinson.
Students in kindergarten through eighth grade submitted their
designs, and the winning artists will have their logos used for
various promotions by the college. The two winners each received a
Lincoln College Lynx T-shirt and a pizza party for their class,
hosted by Lincoln College athletes.
Their talent will be seen for years to come, as Lincoln College
head coach Dave Klemm noted.
"We will have the two winning logos from the local schools framed
and on display in the new Lincoln Center for all visitors to enjoy,"
he said.
The contest was part of several activities celebrating the
opening of the college’s new athletic and convocation center this
year.
