The Logan County Liftoff
program is pleased to announce the awardees of the Woods Foundation
Scholarship for 2010. Left to right: Jacob Scheurer, son of Angela
Scheurer; Ryan Brown, son of Brent Brown; and Josh Jordan, son of
Debra Jordan.
The
Liftoff program is a youth development and scholarship program
administered by the Academic Development Institute and made possible
through the Woods Foundation. Nominations are made annually as a
collaborative effort between a community organization and the
nominee's school. These three LCHS graduates have met the
requirements of the Liftoff program and will continue to be a part
as they move forward in their academic careers. Josh Jordan will
attend Louisville; Ryan Brown, Illinois Wesleyan;
and Jake Scheurer, Quincy University.

high-flying Hollywood actor-director whose memorable
career included the 1969 smash "Easy Rider," died
Saturday at his Venice, Calif., home,
surrounded by family and friends. He was 74.
Chicago
Blackhawks right wing Marian Hossa (81), celebrates after scoring
against Philadelphia Flyers goalie Michael Leighton (49) in the
second period of Game 2 of the NHL Stanley Cup finals on Monday in Chicago. The Blackhawks won 2-1 to take a 2-0 lead
in the best-of-seven Stanley Cup finals.
