LINCOLN -- Glodean "Glo" Hoyt, 78, of
Lincoln, died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at The Christian Village.

A celebration of her life will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at
Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation
will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Mrs. Hoyt was a pastor's wife and served alongside
her husband in Illinois, Florida, Kentucky and then
in Africa. She was a missionary in Zimbabwe from
1967 to 2000.
She was born Feb. 17, 1932, in
Lincoln. Her parents were Hal and Helen Sapp Taylor.
She married John Nealy Hoyt Sr. on Aug. 5, 1951, in
Lincoln. He preceded her in death in 1998.
She is survived by two sons, John Hoyt Jr. (and
Maria) of Lincoln and Timothy Hoyt (and Lynne) of
California; one daughter, Deborah Owens (and Dick)
of Lincoln; two sisters, Imogene Maston of Florida
and Elsie Cunningham (and Joe) of Lincoln; five
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her brother,
Kenneth Taylor.
She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church. |
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made
to the Matabeleland Christian Mission in Zimbabwe
and will be accepted at the funeral home.
