Agnes 'Ma' O'Donoghue

LINCOLN -- Agnes "Ma" O'Donoghue, 88,
of Lincoln, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at 2:20 p.m. at The Christian
Village.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. The rosary
will be recited at 3:30 p.m. |
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family
Church, with the Rev. Jeff Laible officiating.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mrs. O'Donoghue retired from Lincoln Garment
Factory.
She was born June 19, 1921, at Axtel Ky. Her
parents were Joseph and Genevieve Wheatly Alexander.
She married Thomas Joseph O'Donoghue on Feb. 12,
1944, at Hardinsburg, Ky. He preceded her in death
in April 1979.
She is survived by her children, Tom (and Cyndie)
O'Donoghue of Tinley Park and Mike (and Mary)
O'Donoghue, Denny (and Marsha) O'Donoghue, John
"Q-Ball" (and Gail) O'Donoghue, Ruth (and Mike)
Young, Cathy "Jinx" (and Joe) Gleason, Pat (and
Judy) O'Donoghue, Dan "Boone" (and Marsha)
O'Donoghue, Dick (and Myretta) O'Donoghue, Phillip
"Punk" (and Lynn) O'Donoghue and Tim (and Shirley)
O'Donoghue, all of Lincoln; 25 grandchildren; and 27
great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers,
Bernard and Jimmy Alexander; two sisters, Angela
Robbins and Margaret Hinton; and one grandson, Wes
O'Donoghue. She was the last of her immediate
family. |
She was a member of Holy Family Church.
She loved spending time on her front porch with
her family -- kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
She loved the high school Railer basketball games,
the Illini and Kentucky State. She loved to fish.
The family thanks The Christian Village
Alzheimer's unit for the wonderful care to their
mother and to the family.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Research
Hospital or the Alzheimer's unit at The Christian
Village.
