ATLANTA -- Robert C. Robbins, 77, of
Lincoln, formerly of Atlanta, died Monday, May 24, 2010, at 3:08
p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home in Atlanta. Eagles Lodge 2708 of Lincoln will
conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m., following visitation. |
His graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at
the Atlanta Cemetery, with the Rev. Henry Johnson
officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the
Atlanta American Legion. Mr. Robbins retired from
the Clinton IGA as the produce manager.
He served in U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was born Aug. 1, 1932, in Atlanta. His parents
were Warren and Mildred Bennett Robbins. He married
Frances Carlin on Jan. 1, 1952. She preceded him in
death on April 15, 1994.
He is survived by his children, Larry (and Linda)
Robbins of Lincoln, Brenda (and Walt) Hamann of
Manito and Donna (and Lee) Dillingham of Scheider,
Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Robbins of
Bloomington; companion Madonna Babbs of Lincoln; one
brother, David Robbins of Hull; eight sisters,
Frances Vawter of Clinton, Iowa, Neva Bridges of
Lincoln, Eva Lahr of Lincoln, Anna Charron of
Lincoln, Mary Wilson of Edwardsville, Berta Cundiff
of Petersburg, Patsy Kinard of South Carolina and
Eldora Walsh of Des Moines, Iowa; eight
grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Robert
Robbins; one brother; and eight sisters.
He was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church
and Lincoln Eagles Lodge 2708.
