[November 01, 2010]  WASHINGTON (AP) -- Republican Party chairman Michael Steele says he thinks the GOP will do very well in Tuesday's elections because it "has shown that it is prepared to listen to the people."

Offering counterpoint Monday morning on ABC's "Good Morning America," Democratic Party Chairman Tim Kaine credits Democrats with "doing the heavy lifting" to get the economy back to health and create jobs.

The two appeared jointly on the eve of elections most experts and polls have indicated will likely give Republicans control of the House. At the same time, the GOP is not seen as likely to retake the Senate.

Steele said Republicans will do a better job on spending. Kaine accused Republicans of "standing in the way, not seeing past the end of their no."
