DETAILS: Donate blood at this lifesaving event in support of the central Illinois blood supply. Central Illinois Community Blood Center is the blood provider to area patients of 15 counties at 12 central Illinois hospitals. CICBC is the only provider of blood to Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Hopedale Medical Complex, Memorial Medical Center and St. John’s Hospital. If you have any questions about donating, you can call 1-866-GIVE-BLD (1-866-448-3253). Walk-ins are always welcome, but to schedule an appointment call Jessica at 1-866-GIVE-BLD, ext. 118, or sign up online at cicbc.org.

Service of remembrance
SPONSOR: Wellness Ministry Team and staff of Lincoln Christian Church

DETAILS: Seventh annual service to honor those who have died, particularly in the past year, and to help loved ones process their grief. Names will be read and candles lit in their memory during the service. Dr. Paul Boatman, dean of seminary at Lincoln Christian University, will present devotional thoughts. Laurin Hill, minister of worship at Lincoln Christian Church, will coordinate the music. Elders and members of the Wellness Ministry Team will also participate in leading the service. A reception in the Fireside Room will follow the service. Photos of loved ones to be honored can be submitted to remember@lincolnchristianchurch.org or brought to church office by Nov. 1.
