LINCOLN -- Rosemond A. "Audrey"
Matthews, 80, of Lincoln, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at 9:55 p.m. at
St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln.
Her memorial service will be at 1:30 Friday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Royce
Kirkpatrick officiating. Visitation will be from noon until
1:30 p.m. |
Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Havana.
Mrs. Matthews retired from Lincoln Developmental
Center, where she worked 27 years in dietary and
housekeeping.
She was born March 26, 1930, in Gladstone. Her
parents were James Charles and Dora Darlene Dixon
Smith. She married Ira Lyman Matthews on June 12,
1947, in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on
Aug. 18, 1967.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia (and
Duwayne) Reichart of Sherman, Ruth (and Royce)
Kirkpatrick of Rochester and Judy (and Tim) Skelton
of Mason City; three sons, Larry Matthews of
Lincoln, Mark Matthews of Lincoln and John (and
Susan) Matthews of North Carolina; three brothers,
Danny Smith of Missouri, David (and Debbie) Smith of
Sikeston, Mo., and John Smith of St. Louis, Mo.;
five sisters, Imogene Hanger of Massachusetts, Joann
(and Dub) Houck of Scott City, Mo., Kathleen (and
Bob) Woolridge of Jonesboro, Annie Leonard of
Spanawa, Wash., and Sharon Raines (and friend Ed) of
Scott City, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Sara Matthews
(and Samuel) Sanchez, Brad (and Tonya) Matthews,
Josh (and Christine) Short, Nathaniel Skelton,
Alyssa Skelton, Madison Skelton, Jennifer Matthews,
Melissa Matthews and Jackie Frank; and five
great-grandchildren, Alexia and Katie Matthews,
Mallory Short, Preston Short and Makenna Frank. |
She was also preceded in death by two brothers,
Alfred and Melvin Smith, and one grandson, Tyler
Matthews.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of
Logan County.
