Work
is moving right along at the new Humane Society of Logan
County's shelter. Global Tech is currently installing the
heating and cooling system, and plumbing and electrical lines are
also being installed before insulation and drywalling can begin.
The project is being principally built by the LCHS building
trades students, and the good weather has things on the fast
track.

Worshippers take pictures in
front of the Pingquan Church after a bishop ordination ceremony in
Chengde city, northeastern Hebei province, China, on Saturday. China's government-backed Catholic church ordained a bishop who
did not have the pope's approval, despite objections from the
Vatican and comments by a key papal adviser that the move was
"illegitimate" and "shameful."

In this April 3, 2009, file photo originally released by NBC, Joe
Scarborough, host of MSNBC's "Morning Joe," discusses the future of the
Republican Party on NBC's "Meet the Press" in Washington. MSNBC says it's
suspending Scarborough for two days without pay for making
political contributions. The eight donations, each for $500, violate NBC News
policy, MSNBC president Phil Griffin said Friday.

The east end zone for an NCAA football game scheduled
to be played Saturday between Illinois and
Northwestern is seen at Wrigley Field in Chicago on Friday. Because the end zone is so close to the padded wall
in right field, there were concerns about player safety. The two
teams agreed Friday to run their offenses only toward the west end
zone.
