Gary Maas

[November 22, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Gary D. Maas, 69, of Lincoln, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at 3 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Pastor Mark Kaley officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Mr. Maas retired from Graue Chevrolet after 34 years of service.

Gary Duane Maas was born July 21, 1941, in Pekin. His parents were Robert F. and Arlene F. Himmel Maas. He married Brenda J. Walraven on Nov. 17, 1963, at the United Brethren Church in Canton.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Brian (and Chrystal) Maas of Lincoln; a daughter-in-law, Regina Maas of Stonington; one sister, Lavonne (and Virgil) Dawson of Manito; and two grandsons, Blake Maas and Marty Maas.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Eric D. Maas and an infant son.

He graduated from Forman High School in 1959.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Manito, and memorials may be made to his church.
