Mr. Benedict retired from Saint-Gobain Containers
in Lincoln after 38 years.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Carl Lee Benedict was born April 21, 1943, in
Lincoln, a son of C. Fred and Ada Mae Kinney
Benedict. He married Laura A. Long on April 8, 1993,
in Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; his
father, of Lincoln; his children, Rhonda (and
Clayton) Reed of Lincoln and Carey Benedict of
Springfield; stepchildren B.J. Atchison of Kentucky
and Billy Atchison of Atlanta; three brothers,
Robert (and Dorothy) Benedict of Lincoln, Gene (and
Kay) Benedict of Round Lake Beach and Dean (and
Norma) Benedict of San Marcos, Calif.; four
grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
He is a member of American Legion Post 263 and a
former member of Moose Lodge 1441 in Lincoln.
He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1961.
