BUFFALO -- Charles Edward Hawk, 65, of
Buffalo, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at 6:10 a.m. at Capital Care
Center in Springfield. |
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski. His graveside service will be at 2 p.m.
Monday at Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, with
Robert Miner officiating.
Mr. Hawk was an operator engineer for Local 965
in Springfield.
He was born July 13, 1945, in Lincoln. His
parents were Edward Cecil and Susan Alice Hinds
Hawk. He married Carole Lynn Weiser on Aug. 2, 1963.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn, of Buffalo; one
daughter, Cynthia Hawk of Niles, Mich.; three
grandchildren, Alexander Lindzy of Buffalo, Mikel
Lindzy of Niles, Mich., and Valentine Lindzy of
Niles, Mich.; and one sister, Susan (and Dean)
Collier of Illiopolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one
brother, Stuart Hawk.
He was a member of Buffalo Christian Church and a
lifelong member of Operating Engineers Local 965. |
He was a charter member of the Copper Coin Ballet
Company, the predecessor of Springfield Ballet
Company. Their love of performing arts led both
Charles and Lynn to volunteer as ushers at Sangamon
Auditorium, and they were head ushers at the Fox
Theatre in St. Louis.
Memorials may be made to the Buffalo Fire
Department.
