Dorothy Crossman

[October 15, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Dorothy M. Crossman, 87, formerly of Beason, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at 8:15 a.m. at Apostolic Christian Restmor nursing home in Morton.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Robert Baker officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Keys Cemetery, Beason.

Mrs. Crossman was an insurance clerk at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital for many years. She was self-employed at N&D Insurance Billing Service Center, Clinton.

She was born Feb. 12, 1923, in Midland City. Her parents were Leonard and Eva Pennington Burwell. She married Harry Dale Crossman on June 3, 1943, in Pampa, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2004.

She is survived by two daughters, Jackie Dayle Schertz of Morton and Vickie Sue (and Steve) Herman of Washington; one son, Tommy Lee (and Susan) Crossman of Spring Hill, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters.

She was a member of Beason United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Apostolic Christian Restmor for the wonderful care and compassion shown to "Dot" over the years.

Memorials may be made to Beason Fire Department or Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.
