Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski, following a rosary service at 3:30. His
funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas
Aquinas Catholic Church in Mount Pulaski, with
Father Thomas Shaw and Father Harold F. Schmitt
officiating.
Burial will be in Steenbergen Cemetery, Mount
Pulaski, with military rites.
Mr. Jason was a retired operating engineer for
Local 965.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was born April 23, 1931, in Lacon. His parents
were James Grover and Ellen Louisa Long Jason. He
married Mary Lou Schmitt on June 19, 1954, in Henry.
He is survived by his wife, of Mount Pulaski;
five sons, Steven (and Michelle) Jason of Mount
Pulaski, Kevin (and Patty) Jason of Chestnut, Royal
L. "Doc" (and Cheryl) Jason Jr. of Mount Pulaski,
Frederick Jason of Mount Pulaski and Lyndon (and
Mindy) Jason of Heyworth; one daughter, Rhonda (and
Ben) McCarty of Buffalo; three brothers, George (and
Sharon) Jason of Lacon, Delbert (and Jean) Jason of
Lacon and Walter (and Dorothy) Jason of Chico,
Calif.; one sister, Ellen Lutes of Lacon; and
grandchildren Lacey Pulcher, Justin and Jarrod
Jason, Jacqueline Aper, Stephanie Jason, Brittany
Jason, Brittany Zindars, Ryan Jason, Zacchary Jason,
Madison Zindars, Kaity Jason, and Anna McCarty. |
He was also preceded in death by six brothers and
four sisters.
Doc was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic
Church, the Magnolia American Legion and Mount
Pulaski Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 777.
Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas
Church, Magnolia Legion, Mount Pulaski VFW or the
Mount Pulaski Phoenix Fire Department.
