LINCOLN -- Lucille Mallinson, 82, of
Lincoln, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at 11:25 a.m. at Memorial
Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be
at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Ron Otto officiating.
Burial will be in Zion Cemetery. |
Mrs. Mallinson was a cook for District 27 at
Washington-Monroe Elementary School. She was born
Oct. 6, 1927, in Burton View. Her parents were Obie
and Jessie Brockman Spurling. She married Eldon
Mallinson on Dec. 17, 1947, at the First Baptist
Church in Lincoln.
She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; two
daughters, Patricia L. (and John) Aper of Lincoln
and Carla (and Claude) Van Fossan of Lincoln; two
sisters, Geneva Ingram of Lincoln and Thelma Rehder
of Keokuk, Iowa; four grandchildren; two
stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two
step-great-grandchildren.
Three brothers and five sisters preceded her in
death.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of
Lincoln, Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary
of 1756 of Lincoln, Illinois TOPS Chapter 1970 and a
member of the Logan County Cooks Association for
many years. |
She was an avid Cubs fan and loved to watch the Food
Network and her soaps.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's or the First
Baptist Church of Lincoln.
