MIDDLETOWN -- James E. Rogers, 76, of
Middletown, died at his home. Pronouncement of death was at 5:45
p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln,
with the Rev. S.M. Davis officiating. Visitation
will be one hour prior to the service. |
Burial will
be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.
Mr. Rogers was an over-the-road truck driver and
retired Teamster from the Springfield local.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958.
He was born Aug. 5, 1934, in Jasper Country. His
parents were Dean K. and Frankie L. Woods Rogers.
He is survived by two sons, Steve R. (and Sarah)
Rogers of Morrisonville and Frank Rogers of Thayer;
stepchildren Helen Young of Lincoln, Carolyn
Tolliver of Lincoln, Robert Weber of Moline and
Donnie Weber of Moline; three sisters, Judy (and
Mark) Mullins of Beaver Dam, Wis., Sharon (and Raoul)
Goretzke of Springfield and Beverly (and Wade)
Phillips of Christmas, Fla.; one aunt, Marie Deimel
of Springfield; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son,
James Rogers; three brothers, Frank, Max and Bill;
and one stepson. |
He was a member of Park Meadows Baptist Church in
Lincoln and Lincoln American Legion Post 263.
