S
aturday
morning the Lincoln Park District was abustle with people
out enjoying the fresh air. The district’s annual Easter egg
hunt was on a back lawn with hundreds of kids, parents,
grandparents and more there to enjoy the fun.
While adults armed with cameras and video recorders watched
from the sidelines, kids stormed the lawn, scooping up more
than their fair share of 10,000 eggs filled with candy.
The district had four hunts based on age, with the youngest
of children getting a little help from their adults.

Recent rains
have caused many area waterways to swell beyond
their banks.
For a short period of time Friday night, it was
believed that a car had been washed off the road
and into Kickapoo Creek as a result of this
flooding.
Fortunately, the call was a false alarm, but it
can still serve as a strong reminder of “Turn
around; don't drown.” According to experts, it
takes only a very few inches of moving water to
sweep a car into a waterway and put its
occupants in a life-threatening situation.
