Ruthann Ridgeway

[December 05, 2011]  BROADWELL -- Ruthann Ridgeway, 67, of Broadwell, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at 10:16 a.m. at St. Clara's Manor, Lincoln.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Henderson officiating.

Burial will be in Kline Cemetery, Broadwell.

Mrs. Ridgeway retired in 2009 from Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital as a pharmacy technician.

She was born on July 12, 1944, at Deaconess Hospital, Lincoln. Her parents were Harrison and Eva Ann Rainwater Cook. She married Charles E. "Charlie" Ridgeway Jr. on Oct. 10, 1964, in Broadwell. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2006.

She is survived by two sons, Lee (and Debbie) Ridgeway of Beason and Ed (and Kate) Ridgeway of Madison, Wis.; two sisters, Marlene Ely of Lincoln and Ollie Towner of Buffalo Hart; two granddaughters, Kayelee Ruth Ridgeway and Cecilia Rain Ridgeway; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

She was a member of Broadwell Christian Church and a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority, chapter Beta Phi, from 1968 to 1990.

Funeral Director

Ruthann was well known for decorating cakes for birthdays, weddings and holidays.

She had many interests and loves in her life, but what she loved most were her two sons and two granddaughters. She will be sorely missed by them and all of her extended family and friends.

Memorials may be given to Scovill Zoo in Decatur or Logan County Food Bank and will be accepted at the funeral home.
