Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
There will be a prayer service at 3 p.m. His
funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family
Church of Lincoln, with the Rev. Jeffrey Laible
officiating.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lincoln,
with military rites by Hartsburg American Legion
Post 1446.
Mr. Rohlfs retired from owning his own farm
implement business, Rohlfs Implement.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was born Jan. 27, 1922, at Emden. His parents
were John and Margaret Mensen Rohlfs. He married
Virginia Pokorski on June 28, 1947, at Lincoln. She
preceded him in death on Oct. 23, 2004.
He is survived by one daughter, Susan (and Fred)
Finchum of Atlanta; four sons, Les (and Kathy)
Rohlfs of Emden, Thomas (and Debra) Rohlfs of
Petersburg, Bruce (and Kathy) Rohlfs of Cannon
Beach, Ore., and Mike (and Beth) Rohlfs of
Hartsburg; 17 grandchildren, Mark Finchum, Ron
Finchum, Bryan Finchum, Michelle Olson, Nathan,
Kristin, Josh, Jason, Jesse, Jacob and Jacqlyn
Rohlfs, Saramanda Hall, Amber Byers, and Ryann,
Madison, Max and Bianca Rohlfs; 16
great-grandchildren, Brooke, Kate, Shelby, Brayden,
Brodee, Daulton, Alexis, Paige and Kennadie Finchum,
Nickolas Olson, Ty Olson, Evan and Avery Rohlfs,
Aiden Byers, and Willy and Wesley Hall; three
brothers, Merle Rohlfs of Hartsburg, Kenneth Rohlfs
of Pomona, Calif., and James Rohlfs of North Ridge,
Calif.; and one sister, LaVera Barry of Hartsburg. |
He was also preceded in death by two brothers,
Marvin and John Jr., and one great-grandson, Grant
Finchum.
He was a member of Holy Family Church of Lincoln,
Hartsburg American Legion Post 1446 and the Lincoln
Elks 914.
Memorials may be given to Hartsburg Fire and
Rescue.
