Richard 'Dick' Maurer

LINCOLN --
Richard W. "Dick" Maurer, 82, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at
11:30 a.m. at St. Clara's Manor.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln. |
Mr. Maurer's funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at
Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Mark
Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Old Union
Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by
American Legion Post 263.
Dick worked for Kroger grocery and Logan Lanes
bowling.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from
1950-1954 during the Korean War.
He was born on Aug. 2, 1929, in Chester Township,
Logan County. His parents were Victor G. and Alma
Hertzfeldt L. Maurer.
He is survived by three daughters, Judy (and Bob)
Van Tieghem of Aurora, Chris (and Paul) Aden of Anna
and Angela (and David) Marshall of Naperville; one
brother, Robert Maurer of Tucson, Ariz.; four
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Dick was a member of the Lincoln American Legion
Post 263 and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an
avid bowler, attaining a perfect 300 game in 1988,
and a pool player. |
He graduated from Lincoln Community High School.
Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church or
Zion Lutheran School of Lincoln.
