LINCOLN --
Margaret Marie Logan, 88, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011,
at 1 p.m. at her home.
Visitation will be 1-4 p.m.
Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at
the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Reinwald
officiating.
Burial will be in Zion
Cemetery. |
Mrs. Logan and her husband
owned and operated the Dairy Queen for 35 years. She
also taught school in the Orion area and was a
substitute teacher in Elkhart for many years.
She was born Jan. 10, 1923, at
Coal Valley. Her parents were Frank and Margaret
Dorman McWhinney. She married Howard W. Logan on
April 17, 1949, at Coal Valley. He preceded her in
death on Jan. 15, 2000.
She is survived by one
daughter, Jeanne Logan Appel of Decatur and Park
City, Utah; and three grandsons, Jeffrey Appel of
Park City, Utah, Benjamin (and Rachel) Appel of East
Peoria and Ryan Appel of Park City, Utah.
She was also preceded in death
by one brother, Ralph McWhinney.
She was a member of St. John
United Church of Christ and Woman's Club.
She loved spending time with
family and friends. |
She was the second of four generations to graduate
from Western Illinois University.
