LINCOLN -- Jackie B. Sheldon, 77, of
Springfield, formerly of Lincoln, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at
10:30 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. |

His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln,
with the Rev. Michael Short officiating. Visitation
will be at the funeral home from noon until the
service time. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Sheldon retired from the Lincoln Ober Nester
bottle factory after working 20-plus years in
shipping and loading.
He was born Sept. 11, 1933, in Lincoln. His
parents were Ralph and Elsie Larson Sheldon. He
married Martine Langley on Aug. 21, 1952, in
Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife, of Springfield; two
sons, Keith (and Jan) Sheldon of Morton and Stuart
(and Marla) Sheldon of Naperville; one sister,
Evelyn Cosatino; six grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Garland
and Wilbur "Bill" Sheldon. |
