The location on Fifth Street took a lot of reworking by the couple
to turn it into an eatery and bar. New tables and chairs as well
as a unique bar are all part of the business, which wants to keep
the theme of a place of honor to community veterans as well as a
place everyone will want to go for food and beverage.
Besides the obviously military name, the new bar has old
pictures, photos and memorabilia laminated right into the countertop
to pay homage to those who have served their country.
The couple does have experience in the business, as Wes was the
former owner of No Limits in Atlanta.
The initial hours for this weekend are Friday and Saturday from 4
p.m. till 2 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. till midnight.
The normal hours for the bar and grill will be 7 a.m. to midnight
Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday,
and 11 a.m. to midnight on Sunday.
They plan to have the kitchen open from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. and
from 4 till 8 p.m. all week, but the fryers for appetizers will
always be on.
Dinner items to start will be burgers, chicken strips, patty
melts, horseshoes and other similar items.

As things get going, Christine and Wes plan to offer special
dinner items on certain days for diners to enjoy.
The opening of the bar in the basement is hoped to be a win-win,
not only for the Fuchs couple but the VFW as well. The rental income
to the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization will help with costs of
keeping the hall open for veterans and community events.
Christine said she hoped the community would patronize their new
business, which in turn will help the VFW. "We can't do enough for
our veterans," she said.
