[July 08, 2011]  LINCOLN -- Gail Lynn Slack, 52, of Lincoln, died Thursday, July 7, 2011, at 8:45 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Ron Otto officiating.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Slack was a registrar at Midwest Technical Institute in Springfield and payroll clerk at Logan County Health Department. She had also worked as an assistant for Sen. Charles Percy.

She was born on Nov. 7, 1958, in Jackson, Mich. Her parents were James Walter and Christine M. Duel Seaman. She married Myron Slack on June 24, 1988, in Lincoln.

She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; one son, Timothy "Shane" Thompson of Lincoln; two daughters, Amber (and Alex) Rogers of Williamsville and Jennifer Diaz of Little Rock, Ark.; two sisters, Karen LaRue of Dalton, Wis., and Liane (and David) Ballard of Lincoln; one brother, Mark (and Debra) Seaman of Silver Springs, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Olivia Partlow, Emily Fulmer, Jacob Diaz and Owen Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jerry Seaman; and one niece, April Bishop.

Funeral Director

She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church.

Gail was an organ and tissue donor.

Memorials may be given to the Humane Society of Logan County.
