| The board of directors of the Humane Society of Logan County will
host an open house for volunteers and members on Saturday from 11
			a.m. to 2 p.m. at the shelter, 1801 E. Lincoln Parkway. The
community is invited for a sneak peek at the facility. If you are
unable to attend and want to volunteer, call 217-737-4042 or email
			info@hslclincoln.org. The
organization hopes to begin volunteer training in July. In a letter, Ellen Burbage, organization president, expressed
thanks to the community and solicited volunteers: (Copy) On behalf of the
HSLC Board, I would like to express a heartfelt thank you to every
person who has helped the Humane Society of Logan County realize the
dream of building a Shelter. If you have attended or volunteered at
a dog wash, bake sale, purse sale, Ales for Tails, Paws for Claws,
cook-out, chili lunch, pancake breakfast, rummage sale, given us dog
food, cat food, or other animal supplies, provided a space for our
activities, fostered, adopted a dog or cat, or just wished us well,
we thank you. The success of the
HSLC shelter going forward will depend on the dedication and
willingness of our volunteers. We will need your help everyday of
the year. Caring for abandoned, abused and neglected dogs and cats
is a huge responsibility. We are counting on those of you who
expressed a desire to volunteer at the shelter.
