[June 28, 2011]  Hartsburg-Emden FFA members attended the 2011 Illinois FFA State Convention at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield June 14, 15 and 16.

The Hartem FFA received a Gold Emblem award for this past year's activities. The chapter also was recognized with a Century Award for having every agriculture student as an FFA member and received the Sweepstakes Award for participating in all major FFA award areas.

Kelsi Ubbenga was recognized as a Silver Emblem chapter president, and she also received the State FFA Degree.

The Illinois FFA Foundation recognized the Hartem FFA for collecting over $3,000 in the 2010 foundation drive.

Over 3,000 FFA members, guests and parents attended the convention. Attendees took in the career show, listened to addresses from retiring state FFA officers and got to see the state winners in record bookkeeping areas.
