Saturday morning several people turned out to witness the groundbreaking of the Lincoln Community Garden at the Logan County Housing Authority.

The From the Ground Up group has been cultivating this project for the last few months and has been happily surprised with all the interest it has generated.

During the ceremony Saturday morning, Rachel Smith of From the Ground Up spoke briefly, expressing the group's appreciation for the help received in getting the garden project going. She recognized the city of Lincoln, the Logan County Housing Authority and Illinois American Water, just to name a few.
