[May 16, 2011]  ATLANTA -- William E. "Bill" Hardin, 88, of Atlanta, died Saturday, May 14, 2011, at 2:58 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, following a prayer service at 3:30.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Jeffrey Laible officiating.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Lincoln American Legion Post 263.

Mr. Hardin owned and operated Hardin Photography in Lincoln for 40 years.

He was a World War II veteran.

He was born on June 16, 1922, in Atlanta. His parents were Michael Edward and Aletta Amelia Bode Hardin. He married Louise Eimer on Sept. 6, 1947, in Lincoln.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; four sons, Michael D. (and wife Bear) Hardin of Connecticut, Daniel W. (and Debra) Hardin of Lincoln, Thomas J. Hardin of Springfield and Phillip T. (and Michelle) Hardin of Aurora; one daughter, Jayne A. (and Peter) Hintzman of Bloomington; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was the last of his immediate family and was preceded in death by one sister, Florence Gleason, and a grandson, Jonathan Hardin.

Funeral Director

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lincoln, Atlanta Legion Post 341 and the Illinois Professional Photographers Association, of which he was a past president.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Atlanta Legion Post 341.
