"Keenan has been dedicated, professional and personable throughout
the move process, all the while executing his day-to-day functions,"
wrote his anonymous nominator. "He is extremely knowledgeable and
assists whenever asked or needed. ALMH is extremely fortunate to
have Keenan; he makes ALMH a great place to work." Keenan has
worked at ALMH since an internship in the summer of 2003. He began
full time in information services shortly afterward and has worked
there since.
Besides a bachelor’s degree in community health from Northern
Illinois University, Keenan also has a certificate in data
communication and networking from Kishwaukee College. A position in
information services requires a bachelor’s degree or related
experience.
Keenan’s day-to-day responsibilities vary and include configuring
and troubleshooting wired and wireless networks, phones, printers,
computers, video surveillance, software applications, biomedical
devices and television infrastructure. He also may provide server
and Citrix administration and give input in meetings.
"I get to be involved in a wide variety of projects, which makes
my work more fulfilling," Keenan said. "I enjoy working with the
staff at ALMH. They provide the key to a great work environment."

His advice for someone interested in information services: Choose
a field of technology and an industry that is interesting. "Never
stop learning, because technology is in a constant state of change."
ALMH employs more than 290 in a wide variety of job functions. A
different employee is honored each month for their commitment to
creating great patient experiences, getting great results and making
ALMH a great place to work.
