LINCOLN -- Edgar "Dean" Leith, 91, of
Lincoln, died Tuesday, Nov, 15, 2011, at 5:30 p.m. at his home. |
A memorial service will be announced later.
Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Mr. Leith founded Dean Leith Plumbing and Heating
in 1950. The business is now owned and co-operated
by two of his sons, Phillip and Mark.
He served in the U.S. Naval Air Corps as a
radioman gunner on a torpedo bomber during World War
II.
He was born July 18, 1920, in Logan County. His
parents were Edgar and Sylvia Leith. He married Vera
"June" Leith on Nov. 9, 1943, in Atlanta. She
preceded him in death May 7, 1991.
Dean is survived by four sons, Roger (and Susie)
of Gilbertsville, Ky., Phillip of Atlanta, Scott
(and Kathy) of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Mark (and
Mindy) of Lincoln; his devoted friend, Loreen Durst,
of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren; and 14
great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers,
Courtland and James. |
Dean was a life member of the Elks Country Club and
AMVETS. He was also a member of the Veterans of
Foreign Wars and American Legion.
He was an avid boater, fisherman and golfer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the
donor's choice.
