BLOOMINGTON -- Robert "Bob" Pomrenke,
96, of Bloomington died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at 3:20 p.m. at
Heritage Health, Normal. |
He was cremated. A memorial service will be in
Chicago at a later date.
Arrangements were by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Mr. Pomrenke retired in 1978 from First National
Bank of Chicago, where he was a teller.
He served in the U.S. Marines during World War
II.
Bob was born on Jan. 1, 1915 in Lafe, Ark. His
parents were Julius and Bertha Kleiner Pomrenke. He
married Berneice Dammerier in 1944 in Chicago. She
preceded him in death in 1989.
He is survived by two sons, Robert (and Nancy)
Pomrenke of Jacksonville, Fla., and Brian (and
Nancy) Pomrenke of Woodstock, Ga.; two daughters,
Bonnie (and Dale) Steffens of Lincoln and Barbara
(and Terry) Arr of Normal; 10 grandchildren; and one
great-granddaughter.

He was also preceded in death by one brother and
two sisters. He was the last of his immediate
family.
Bob was a member of the American Legion and the
Chicago Musicians Union.
