The
Tungurahua volcano spews ashes during an
eruption seen from Cotalo, Ecuador, on Tuesday. Ecuador's Geophysical
Institute says increased activity that began
Sunday is billowing columns of ash, sending
superheated clouds of gas down the slopes
and cascading hot rocks from the summit.
Tuesday
morning the
intersection of
North Logan and
Broadway was the
scene of a two-vehicle
accident, and
one vehicle
experienced a
rollover. In the
photo above, the
gray pickup
truck is being
pulled back into
an upright
position by a
wrecker.
Lincoln
police and fire
departments
responded to the
call around 10
Tuesday morning.
According to a
Community Action
employee, the
gray pickup
went through a
red light and
was hit broadside by a
Community Action
weatherization
vehicle, driven
by employee
Kevin Musick.
Musick was not
injured.
According to
fire Chief Mark
Miller, the
driver of the
pickup had to
be assisted out
of the vehicle
by the fire
department.
Miller said once
the department
had provided an
escape from the
truck, the
driver walked
out on his own.
He was taken to
Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital by the
Logan County
Paramedics to be
checked out.
Neither Miller
nor police Chief
Ken Greenslate
could verify
whether or not
the pickup ran a
red light. The
official
accident report
should be placed
on record within
the next couple
of days.

at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre in New York. Producers of the hit show
said Tuesday that it has recouped its $11.4 million capitalization after
just nine months. The musical is the brainchild of Trey Parker and Matt
Stone, creators of "South Park," and Robert Lopez, who co-wrote the
"Avenue Q."
