Ruth Guy

[September 16, 2011]  LINCOLN -- Ruth Guy, 88, of Lincoln, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at 2:10 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Tim Searby officiating. Preceding the service, there will be visitation from noon to 1 p.m.

Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Beason.

Mrs. Guy cooked for many years at Beason High School and retired from Lehn & Fink Products. She was a homemaker.

She was born Aug. 30, 1923, in Lincoln. Her parents were Roscoe P. and Hulda Wilkey Jones. She married Robert W. Guy Sr. on Dec. 14, 1942, in Lincoln, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 2009.

She is survived by two daughters, Luana "Sue" Rademaker of Pekin and JoAnne Payne of Lincoln; two sons, Robert (and Lynda) W. Guy Jr. of Lincoln and Thomas J. Guy of Lincoln; nine grandchildren, Robert (and Michelle) Rademaker, Jeff (and Donna) Rademaker, Nancy (and Chad) Barnes, Robert W. (and Cindy) Guy III, Jason Guy, Tony Guy, Amy (and Scott) Neece, Beth (and Mike) Rohlfs and Tim (and Elizabeth) Guy; 14 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her twin brother, Ross, and three sisters, Dorothy Benner, Marian Hardin and Florence Voyles. She was the last of her immediate family.

She was a member of Beason United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made to Castle Manor or Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
