MOUNT PULASKI -- Lois Abbey Meyers, 85,
died Friday, April 6, 2012, at 8:53 p.m. at Lewis Memorial Christian
Village, Springfield.

Mt. Pulaski- Lois Abbey Meyers, 85, died on April 6,
2012 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village,
Springfield, IL at 8:53 P.M.
Lois was born on August 17, 1926 in Algonac
Michigan, daughter of Leon Joseph and Gladys Lucille
Jackson Viger. She married Robert Abbey on February
2, 1946. She later married Col. John Meyers on
November 29, 1978. He preceded her in death on
February 23, 1994.

Lois is survived by three daughters, Sherry Abbey
(Lacy) Hall of Elkhart, Lesa Abbey Jackson of Mt
Pulaski, and Debra Abbey (Steve) Ormord of New
Mexico, two sisters, Sarah Appelman and Charlotte
Taylor, and one brother Leon (Thelma) Viger all of
Algonac, Michigan, seven grandchildren and
twenty-three great-grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by her parents and one sister Mary Lewis.
Lois was a member of Elkhart Christian Church, The
Daughters of the British Empire and Algonac Clay
Historical Society.
The Resurrection Service for Lois will be 11:00 A.M.
Saturday April 14, 2012 at Elkhart Christian Church
with Michael Drake and Robert Twist officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 A.M. prior to the
service. Burial will be at Elkhart Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Elkhart Christian Church
Missions. Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home,
Lincoln is handling arrangements.
