Miriam 'Billie' Bock

Miriam "Billie" O. Bock, 91, of Lincoln, died Sunday, April 15,
2012, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

LINCOLN-Miriam (Billie) O. Bock, 91 of Lincoln,
passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln, IL.
Billie was born on December 18, 1920 in Lincoln, IL
a daughter of William C. and Emma Von Drehle Otte.
She married Adam F. Bock June 10, 1940 in Lincoln,
IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two
brothers: Henry (Henrietta) Otte and Armin
(Virginia) Otte, four sisters: Bertha (Paul) Dahmm,
Emma (William) Bock; Tryphena (Julius) Aper and
Esther Otte. She is survived by her husband of 67
years and many nieces and nephews and special
friends: Charles and Mary Jane Anderson. She was the
last of her immediate family.

She was a graduate of Lincoln Community High School
and of the Deaconess Hospital as a Registered Nurse.
She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran
Church. She worked four years at the Illiopolis
Munitions Plant during World War II as the head
nurse. She enjoyed gardening, cultivating flowers
and caring for her beloved cats. She loved to help
people and was a friend to everyone. The family
wishes to thank the caregivers for their special
care to Billie over the years.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 18 at
the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1409 Pulaski St.,
Lincoln, IL until the service time at 11:00 a.m.
with Rev. Andrew Nyren and Chaplain Ryan Edgecombe
of the Christian Village officiating. Burial will
follow at New Union Cemetery. Memorials may be made
to the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lincoln or to
Luther Seminary or Dubuque Seminary.
