Dorothy Anna Knopp, 89, of Lincoln, died Friday, April 13, 2012, at
5:30 a.m. at The Christian Village.

Lincoln-Dorothy Knopp, 89, of Lincoln died
peacefully at 5:30 a.m. on April 13, 2012 at
Christian Village in Lincoln, Il.
She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on Aug. 29, 1922,
the only child of George and Marjorie Diefenderfer
Hahn. She was a devoted mother of four children and
was known as "great Ma" to 8 grandchildren and 12
great grandchildren. Her children are Marjorie
(Rick) Trujillo of Murphysboro, IL; Dr. Gerald
(Peggy) Knopp of Wentzville, MO; Dr. Richard (Paula)
Knopp of Lincoln, IL; and George Knopp of St. Louis.
Grandchildren are Keith and John Herberger, Anna
Knopp Mattern, David Knopp, Nicki Knopp Green, Katie
Knopp Young, Andy Knopp, and Daniel Knopp.

For much of her life, she faithfully ministered as a
preacher's wife in Mt. Pleasant, KY; Corinth, KY;
Whiting, IA; Lusk, WY; Owensville, MO; Danville, IL;
Hamlet, NC; and Carbondale, IL. She also worked as a
clerk for IGA and Russell-Stovers, a secretary at
St. Louis Christian Hospital, and an ombudsman for
Logan County nursing homes.
She had lived in Lincoln for about 25 years and was
a member of Lincoln Christian Church. But her
beautiful soprano voice was regularly heard on
Sundays at Friendship Manor where she lived for 23
years and at Castle Manor where she lived the last 2
years.
Visitation for Mrs. Knopp will be held at Fricke,
Calvert, Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln on
Thursday, April 19, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. with a
memorial service following at 11:00 a.m. Tim Searby,
administrator at Castle Manor, will officiate.
Cremation rites will follow and burial will occur at
a later time. Memorial gifts may be sent to Lincoln
Christian University in Lincoln, Illinois.
