Della Sarah Auxier, 89, of Easton died at 7:20 pm on
Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center
in Springfield. She was born on October 28, 1922 in
Browning, IL the youngest child to Michael James and
Mary Katherine (Clark) Swan. She married Victor
Daniel Auxier October 5, 1941 in Palmyra MO.
Surviving are four children. Vonda Douglas and Dona
(Doug) Hudgins, both of Easton, IL, Lora (Nat)Farnsworth
of Batavia, IL, and Verl (Lori) Auxier of Lincoln,
IL. 11 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 29
great grandchildren, 9 step great grandchildren, 5
great great grandchildren and one step great great
granddaughter, and several others who called her
“grand ma” or “G.G.” She was preceded in death by
her husband, parents, six brothers, three sisters
one granddaughter, five great granddaughters, one
great grandson and one step great granddaughter.
She was a home-maker and had worked at ALM hospital
for 20 years. She was a foster grandmother at
Lincoln Developmental Center and was a member of the
Easton United Methodist Church where she was a
janitor and Communion Steward (making home-made
bread for Communion) for a number of years.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00am on Monday August
20, 2012 at the Easton United Methodist Church.
Pastor Al Sample will officiate. Visitation will
be on Sunday evening from 5pm -7pm at Hurley Funeral
Home in Mason City. Burial will be at Green Hill
Cemetery. Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City is in
charge of the arrangements. Memorial donations may
be given Easton United Methodist Church or donor’s
